The beautiful thing about college basketball is that each year is completely different. Many players return from previous years, but with the advent of the Transfer Portal we’re seeing more and more of these rosters unrecognizable, quickly rebuilt in each offseason. When practices and games start in earnest, these players must come together in a hurry in order to reach their ultimate goals.

While not every aspect of this sport is entertaining or appealing, especially to fair weather sports fans, each season provides excitement in its own way. The NCAA Tournament is one of the most incredible postseasons in all of sports, but our eyes are on more than just that event. We’re taking time today to remember some of the great moments from this past season.

The way we’re doing that is by presenting the next part of our long-term article series. We’ve been breaking down the best college basketball players from the past season based off their jersey numbers. This is a strange and unique process that really doesn’t tell us anything concrete but still has become an intriguing way to look at some of the players and stories of the past season.

It’s a guarantee that not every name mentioned today will be recognizable, especially some of the names in the honorable mentions. However, with today’s focus on #15, there are definitely a few names that floated to the top in our selections. The nation’s best player and perhaps its best mid-major player are both included along with a number of names who made major impacts for their programs.
