3. Kevin McCullar Jr. (Kansas)

No matter how you slice it, McCullar just had the most productive season of a long, prosperous career in the Big 12. He spent his first three seasons of action for two different coaches at Texas Tech before opting to make the move to Kansas back in 2022. McCullar’s senior season with the Jayhawks was a productive effort though he took another step forward this past year.

Even though he missed several games at the end of the season, McCullar certainly proved his worth by averaging 18.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.5 steals a game. A critical backcourt weapon for Kansas, he was named First Team All-Big 12 and actually led the entire league in points per game. This was a bit of an up and down season for the Jayhawks, who finished just 5th place in the conference, though McCullar unfortunately missed the postseason due to injury.

Incredibly, McCullar had back-to-back triple-doubles in November, standing out in the Jayhawks’ win over Kentucky in the Champions Classic before repeating the feat against Chaminade in Maui. He was a major producer, scoring 34 points against Yale and coming up big during league play. McCullar played well in important wins over TCU and Houston, but went scoreless after leaving what would be his final collegiate game due to injury in early March. His impact was undoubtedly felt in Lawrence.
