NCAA Basketball: Top 10 players to wear jersey No. 20 in 2023-24 season
By Joey Loose
6. Keylan Boone (UNLV)
An intriguing prospect from Tulsa, Boone was a bench piece at Oklahoma State for three seasons before spending his senior year at Pacific. Boone would then opt to spend his final year of eligibility with his brother at UNLV. This fifth collegiate season was by far Boone’s most productive and successful, playing a ton of minutes for a UNLV team that made waves and found themselves into the postseason.
Boone missed the first month of the season but still came on strong late, averaging 12.7 points and 6.8 rebounds while knocking down 35% of his 3-pointers. The raw numbers weren’t as great as the previous year with Pacific, but he was doing this against touch foes in the MWC. Not only did his contributions lead the Rebels to a Top 4 finish in a strong league, he also earned Third Team All-MWC honors and was among the league’s most efficient performers.
Boone’s debut with UNLV came with 10 points in their upset win over Creighton, though he’d have a hand in plenty of other success later on. He’d have 21 points in a tough loss to Colorado State and provided support in upsets over Boise State, New Mexico, and San Diego State, with 16 points and 11 rebounds in a March win over those Aztecs. Boone also helped guide the Rebels to two wins at the NIT, with at least 18 points in both of those games.
