5. Dayvion McKnight (Xavier)

During his time at Western Kentucky, McKnight turned into a prominent scorer in the CUSA. His last two seasons with the Hilltoppers saw him average at least 16 points per game, but he opted to transfer this past offseason. McKnight would land at Xavier and contribute on a Musketeers team that didn’t quite accomplish all their goals, though it was still a memorable fourth collegiate season.

Year one with Xavier saw him put up 12.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game with solid shooting numbers. He was the third-leading scorer on a Musketeers team that would finish under .500 but still showed promise at times against a tough Big East. He did also finish among the league’s leaders in assists and steals.

It was a lost season for Xavier, but McKnight still had several notable moments. He had 20 points and 8 rebounds in the rivalry win over Cincinnati in early December and matched that figure several times. He’d score 19 in a nice win against St. John’s and had at least 20 in both games against a tough Creighton squad. All didn’t go as planned for McKnight or the Musketeers, though he did at least have a nice 20-point effort in the Big East Tournament.
