Honorable Mentions

Joe Bamisile (VCU)

It was four teams in four year for Bamisile, who seemed to have his best success while playing in the A-10. A former player at Virginia Tech, George Washington, and Oklahoma, he just spent his senior year with VCU, putting up 13.1 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. Bamisile made 37% of his 3-pointers while helping the Rams to a 24-win season with solid contributions. He certainly exceeded his performance as a junior with the Sooners.

Nick Caldwell (Southeastern Louisiana)

Not many people follow the Southland Conference, but Caldwell’s quietly done nice work for Southeastern Louisiana over the last five years. He certainly surpassed all prior seasons this year, averaging 15.4 points and 5.5 rebounds a game while making 42% of his 3-pointers and 81% of his free throws. Named First Team All-Southland, Caldwell was one of the league’s best scorers and led the league in effective field goal percentage while his Lions nabbed 5th place.

Darin Green Jr. (Florida State)

For Green it was five collegiate seasons and five years averaging double-digit points per game. The first three years came at UCF, but he’s been a vital piece for the Seminoles in recent years, including 11.3 points and 3.0 rebounds this season. While Florida State finished in the middle of the pack in the ACC, Green stood out for his solid offensive play and veteran leadership for this squad.

Carlos Marshall Jr. (Santa Clara)

After time at the JUCO level and a few nice seasons at Tennessee State, Marshall transferred to Santa Clara but played just three games. This past senior year saw him fully on court for the Broncos, guiding the program to 20 wins and a 4th place finish in the WCC. All the while Marshall averaged 13.2 points and 4.4 rebounds a game with a dynamic 42% from outside the arc.

Patrick McCaffery (Iowa)

The latest McCaffery to don the Hawkeyes’ black and gold, Patrick redshirted his freshman year before the pandemic and was a contributor for each of the last four seasons. He’s fresh off a senior year where he averaged 8.9 points and 2.8 rebounds a game while making 44% of his field goals. He was far from the top option for the Hawkeyes but was a solid piece of the puzzle and will look to finish his career with a bang next year at Butler.
