10. Kyle Rode (Liberty)

This past season was year five for Rode at Liberty, the seemingly rare player these days spending his entire career with one school. He got decent minutes as a role player as a freshman before the pandemic but has been a starting forward ever since. The Kentucky native never really wowed on the court for the Flames but just had the best numbers of his career in his program’s debut season in the CUSA.

Rode averaged 14.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game while hitting 39% of his 3-pointers. This season didn’t feature the kind of success Liberty had achieved in the A-Sun, but Rode helped the program to a 4th place finish regardless. He was named Second Team All-CUSA while leading the conference in made 3-pointers. Rode established himself as the leading scorer and veteran presence that this team needed in a season of transition.

A notable November included Rode’s 23-point performance against Charlotte and a 31-point affair against Wichita State. His solid play was a big part of Liberty’s decent first season in the new-look CUSA, and including a standout performance with 31 points against Western Kentucky in the regular season finale. His career ended on a relative high note even if the Flames weren’t back in the postseason, though Rode was certainly important to this program for half a decade.
