8. Matt Knowling (Yale)

Knowling spent the last three seasons with solid production at Yale. The talented young forward arrived on campus during the pandemic, but was already an important part of the lineup when finally on court as a sophomore. His junior year actually saw him lead the Ivy League in field goal percentage and his career has shown no signs of stopping ever since.

During this past senior season Knowling would average 11.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game. His numbers would take a slight decrease after that standout junior season, but Knowling was still an efficient weapon for the Bulldogs. He’d miss a few games but still was one of the leading scorers on a Yale squad that won 23 games and came through when it mattered most.

You won’t find Knowling on the All-Ivy League teams, but he still made quite an impact on the court. He scored 16 points in early games away from home against Loyola Marymount and Weber State and later had 20 points during league play against Columbia. He would hit double-figures in the Bulldogs’ two wins in the Ivy League Tournament and provided support in their wild upset over Auburn in the NCAA Tournament. Due to Ivy League eligibility restrictions, Knowling is unable to return to Yale but should be in a position for success at USC next year.
