NCAA Basketball: Top 10 players to wear jersey No. 23 in 2023-24 season
By Joey Loose
2. Tristan Da Silva (Colorado)
A talented forward originally from Germany, Da Silva opted for Colorado for his collegiate career and has been with the Buffaloes for the last four seasons. He showed potential as a bench piece in his freshman season but grew into a more significant role after that. Each season saw Da Silva take on a greater role with Colorado and he certainly had a senior season to remember for this squad.
With numbers that mirrored his productivity as a junior, Da Silva averaged 16.0 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game as a senior. This time he settled for Second Team All-Pac-12 honors after nabbing the First Team nod as a junior, though this season saw him help Colorado to a 26-win campaign, including a pair of wins in the Big Dance. He was among the league leaders in points and field goal percentage in the final season of the Pac-12 and made essential contributions on offense.
Solid play followed Da Silva throughout the season, including a 22-point, 10-rebound, 9-assist game against Miami in early December. He played well down the stretch of the season, topping 20 points in three of the last four regular season games, including 27 points and 11 rebounds against Stanford. After taking the Buffaloes to the title game of the Pac-12 Tournament, Da Silva had at least 17 points in all three of their NCAA Tournament games, with the season ending in the second round at the hands of Marquette.
