5. Tyler Thomas (Hofstra)

Throughout the five seasons of his collegiate career, Thomas proved himself as a significant offensive weapon. His first three years came somewhat under the radar at Sacred Heart in the NEC until he chose to transfer to Hofstra. The last two seasons in the CAA saw Thomas continue to develop as a high-profile scorer and he’s fresh off what’s by far his most outstanding effort.

Thomas would average 22.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.3 assists as a fifth-year senior, making 37% of his 3-pointers amid a standout offensive campaign. Not only did he help lead the Pride to 3rd place and a 20-win season, he was named CAA Player of the Year and ranked among the top scorers in the entire nation. Thomas produced a lot of points and was rarely off the court during a productive final season.

Thomas put on a show at the Gulf Coast Showcase, dropping 30 points against Wright State in the semifinals before an impressive 40-point effort against High Point in an overtime victory. He’d exceed 30 points during league play in a couple of losses and was regularly scoring around 25 points against his league foes. While Hofstra’s season ended in their league tourney, he went out on a high note, with 32 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists in their loss to Stony Brook.
