Talent comes in all shapes and sizes in the world of college basketball. There’s no particular build or attribute that guarantees success. There’s also no specific gage to guarantee success in this sport. For some players it’s about scoring lots of points while for others it’s amount making game-changing plays. Not everyone can win league titles and play in the Big Dance and far fewer players get to cut down the nets as national champions.

Regardless, there’s a lot of success in this sport. Thousands of young players dream of their opportunity to play D1 basketball and everyone who made it to this point is already successful in their own right. What really stands out in this sport is the depth of talent and teams; with nearly 400 D1 program playing games on a daily basis. Can there be success among each of these programs?

Success remains a relative term and it’s not precisely what we’re even thinking about today. Our task today is to continue our long running article series that has focused on the best players from the last season based on their uniform numbers. Much like there’s no particular body size that guarantees success, there’s an inherent randomness on the jersey numbers that these players choose or are assigned.

Keeping that in mind, we’re continuing this arbitrary series by looking at the best players donning #24 from this season. You’ll find successful players wearing this number, though perhaps you’ll hear about a few new successes as well. Some of the names among the honorable mentions may be unfamiliar to some college basketball fans, though the names at the end of the piece should be far more memorable.
