4. Kevin Cross (Tulane)

After showing potential as a freshman at Nebraska, Cross transferred to Tulane and has been an important piece for the Green Wave across the last four seasons. While Tulane hasn’t exactly stood out in basketball, Cross has been a great playmaker for the squad and has really grown as a player. This past season was his fifth and final year of eligibility and he made it count with the most productive season of his career.

While it wasn’t the most successful season for the Green Wave, Cross stood out with 17.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 4.6 assists a game. He made 51% of his field goal attempts, including 42% in limited chances from outside the arc. Cross earned himself All-AAC honors for a third straight year despite Tulane’s 10th place finish in the league. He also ranked as one of the top scorers, rebounders, and ball distributors in the conference.

Cross was a stat-sheet stuffer throughout his final season. He actually recorded back-to-back triple-doubles in wins over Furman and Southern in December, including 25 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists against the Paladins. The Green Wave struggled to stockpile league wins, though Cross had 28 points in a win at Tulsa and scored 27 in an overtime victory against Temple. Things weren’t always pretty on the court but Cross was one of the AAC’s most productive players.
