NCAA Basketball: Top 10 players to wear jersey No. 24 in 2023-24 season

8. Tre’Von Spillers (Appalachian State)
Spillers just finished his most profound season of his career, though it was also at his third school in three seasons. He spent his freshman year at South Carolina-Salkehatchie before moving to Moberly Area CC for year two. His junior year was far different at the D1 level, but he certainly didn’t buckle under new challenges. Spillers was very productive as a newcomer for the Mountaineers in a standout season.
He put up 12.8 points and 8.9 rebounds for Appalachian State this past season, standing out as the top rebounder and most productive scorer for a team that won the regular season title in the Sun Belt. He was an instant success for this program, earning First Team All-Sun Belt honors for his fine work. Spillers contributed well on both sides of the ball and was among the national leaders in field goal percentage.
His first 20-point effort came in a November win over Austin Peay, one week before contributing in a big win over Auburn. Spillers put up a few more 20-point performances during league play, guiding the Mountaineers to that league crown with his consistent efforts. He scored 21 points against James Madison and had several double-doubles at the season’s end. The Mountaineers settled for the NIT, though Spillers came up big time and time again; will that continue next year at Wake Forest?
