5. Nijel Pack (Miami)

Back at Kansas State, Pack was an incredibly important weapon for the Wildcats as an underclassman. However, he opted to transfer to Miami before his junior season. The Hurricanes certainly appreciated that commitment, as Pack would help lead them to the Final Four. Things were not quite as rosy in Miami this season, though Pack himself would put together another solid campaign.

The senior averaged 13.3 points and 3.6 assists per game while knocking down 36% of his 3-pointers. His shooting numbers took a step back, but Pack remained an important piece for the Hurricanes. Miami came nowhere close to repeating last season’s success, stumbling to 14th place in the ACC, though Pack still had a solid second campaign in Coral Gables.

Back in November, Pack dropped 28 points in an important win over Kansas State, his former team. He played well against Clemson, with 25 points against a team that would make the Elite Eight two months later. Things were pretty rocky in league play, and Pack did miss nearly a month near the end of the season, though he came back to score 18 points against Boston College in the ACC Tournament. A season full of disappointment still demonstrated Pack’s ability.
