The college basketball season never ceases to entertain and amaze. Many things make this sport special, with the NCAA Tournament certainly among the most notable of the bunch. Even in this current down time in the league you can find entertainment, with the Transfer Portal still spinning out some two months later, though we’re not exactly focusing on either of those aspects today.

One other aspect of this sport that is a bit underrated is the general depth of talent. It’s obvious that players and teams in the power conferences are going to stand out and receive more coverage and attention than those in the mid-majors or smaller leagues. However, a lack of coverage doesn’t mean that there aren’t stories to be told in those leagues, and we’re telling all sorts of stories today.

This piece represents the next step in our long-term article series. It’s a series that breaks down the best players from the past year based only on the numbers on their jerseys. There’s absolutely nothing about uniform umbers that dictates skill, talent, or potential, but this exercise has still been quite fascinating. We’ve already looked at seventeen other groups of players and you can bet that more stories will be told.

The stories of recent lore in today’s focus come from those wearing #25 on their jerseys. It’s not as popular a number as a few others we’ve examined, but there are certainly a group of intriguing names that stand out today. We’ll share brief information about some honorable mentions before diving into the best from the past year; let’s get right into the discovery.
