3. Malik Hall (Michigan State)

Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, Hall made the not-so-distant journey to Michigan State back in 2019 and remained a member of that program for five seasons. Hall played half a decade for the Spartans under Tom Izzo, with his contributions elevating with each passing year. A viable backcourt piece, this past season was not just his final in East Lansing but his first as the full-time starter for the Spartans.

Hall took advantage of that opportunity by averaging 12.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.9 assists a game. The Spartans failed to live up to lofty preseason expectations, but Hall still led this team to a 6th place finish in the Big Ten and yet another trip to the NCAA Tournament. His marked step forward saw him emerge as the second leading scorer for Michigan State with decent figures across the board.

Despite a slow start to the season for Michigan State, Hall put up 18 points in their loss to Duke and had 22 in a tough loss at Nebraska a few weeks later. After keying a win over Baylor, his play would be more consistent during Big Ten play, including 22 points in a big win over Illinois and 29 a few days later at Penn State. A few weeks after a 15-point, 17-rebound game against Northwestern, Hall helped lead the Spartans again to the Big Dance, with 17 points and 9 rebounds in his final game, a second round loss to North Carolina.
