7. Stephan Swenson (Stetson)

Originally from Belgium, Swenson has shown awesome growth across his career playing college ball at Stetson. He’s started over 100 games in four seasons with the Hatters and played in even more, with his production improving with each passing season. This past year wasn’t just about his own productivity, Swenson also helped deliver postseason success for the Hatters as well.

The senior averaged 13.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game with decent shooting figures. Swenson earned Second Team All-ASun honors and led the league in total assists. Swenson also finished among the Atlantic Sun’s best in points, steals, and a few defensive metrics, guiding the Hatters to a 2nd place finish in the league. The work wasn’t done there, as Swenson helped lead this program to the NCAA Tournament with a conference tournament crown.

He played well even early on, putting up 19 points and 9 rebounds in a road upset at UCF, now a Big 12 program. Swenson’s offense was on display with several 20-point efforts, including a 29-point game against Queens in late March. During the ASun Tournament, Swenson dropped 29 points in the semifinals before a title game win over Austin Peay. Two weeks later he scored 20 points in a blowout loss to eventual champion UConn and will look to match this success next year with UC Santa Barbara.
