One brilliant aspect of college basketball is that every season tells a different story. The names on the programs don’t change, the Blue Bloods are always seemingly relevant, and coaches can last for an entire generation, but the stories are greatly different. After all, each player only has four (or five) years of on-court eligibility, meaning one school’s happenings one season will look completely different in half a decade.

The ability to tell diverse stories marks the brilliance of this sport. We hear a lot about the ones displayed at the NCAA Tournament, especially the teams that advance or captivate national attention. However, it’s important to remember that this is a sport with 362 D1 programs and thousands of student athletes. They all got to this level through vastly different means and they all have their own experiences.

We’ll be continuing to share some of these recent experiences by presenting the next piece in this long-running article series. This particular series has looked closely at the best players of the past year based on just their jersey numbers. Uniform numbers don’t matter in the slightest, especially when figuring out talent and potential, but that hasn’t stopped us from diving into this project as a unique sorting operation.

After several previous pieces, we’re now up to #32 and these players are today’s focus. As has been mentioned, fewer players wore each individual number in the thirties. You won’t find this list filled with household names, though the guy at the very top certainly garnered a lot of attention this season. We move forward with a few honorable mentions, though fewer than usual, and then we’ll dive into the players donning #32 that really stood out.
