4. Tytan Anderson (Northern Iowa)

In his first two seasons, Anderson was just a backup piece at Northern Iowa, playing limited minutes off the bench. Junior year was a really strong step forward, earning him the Most Improved Player award from the MVC. As awesome as year three was, Anderson was certainly looking forward to more of the same out of his senior year with the Panthers and he certainly put up competitive numbers for this team.

Anderson would average 11.9 points and 7.1 rebounds a game, numbers that actually were just beneath what he accumulated the previous season. Regardless, he was a key frontcourt weapon for a Panthers squad that improved to a 4th place finish in a top-heavy MVC. Northern Iowa’s third-leading scorer, Anderson, he sat among the league’s leaders in rebounds and steals and had decent shot blocking metrics as well.

After a slow start to the year for the Panthers, Anderson put up 20 points in a rough loss to Evansville but played well during a stronger back half of the season. He was actually scoring regularly in double-figures late in conference play, including a 20-point game at Valparaiso and an impressive 18-point, 18-rebound affair against Drake. His season ending in the semifinals of the MVC Tournament, but did include 19 points and 19 rebounds in their previous win over Belmont.
