14. Georgia Bulldogs

Despite losing 11 of their final 14 SEC games, the Bulldogs snuck their way into the NIT and took advantage of it, rattling off three straight wins before falling to Seton Hall in the semifinals.

Hoping to catapult off of last season’s postseason run, the Bulldogs will be improved on the interior -- and their incoming recruiting class is a crucial reason for that.

The Bulldogs, who will welcome the 10th-best composite rank recruiting class in the country, according to 24/7 Sports, will welcome five-star PF Asa Newell and four-star C Somoto Cyril to Athens, immediately impacting the Bulldogs frontcourt.

Newell, who stands at 6-foot-9 and with a freakishly athletic mold, can block shots, space the floor and score above the rim, according to Adam Finkelstein. He’s got a do-it-all skill set and is expected to enter the starting lineup in November.

Somoto Cyril, who de-committed from Kentucky after John Calipari’s departure to Arkansas, is a prototypical big man as a strong rim protector and rebounder standing at 6-foot-10. Cyril may not start, but he will surely carve out an impactful role in Athens.

In the jam-packed SEC, the Bulldogs will have their work cut out in 2024-25. However, the same story goes for the other 15 teams. With the help of incoming freshman Asa Newell and Somoto Cyril in the frontcourt, Mike White’s group may surprise some folks this season.
