20. Georgetown Hoyas

It was a rough go-around in the first year of the Ed Cooley era. Finishing with a 9-23 (2-18) record, the Georgetown Hoyas will look to put last year’s woes behind them.

Headlining the Hoyas’ offseason is their new backcourt featuring Malik Mack -- who had a star freshman campaign at Harvard -- and last year’s leading scorer Jayden Epps.

Aside from their high-scoring backcourt and the addition of TCU transfer Micah Peavy, the Hoyas have question marks entering the 2024-25 season.

However, a reason for optimism is their incoming recruiting class.

Four-star center Thomas Sober, a traditional, back-to-the-basket big man who will shoot from three, enters the fold.Three-star PF Caleb Williams -- who held offers from Syracuse, Michigan and Miami (FL), among others -- will be in the mix, too. Both will instantly add depth to an otherwise thin backcourt, demonstrating their ability to make a first-year impact.

The Hoyas, who have the 20th-best composite recruiting class in the country, according to 24/7 Sports, will also welcome three-star SG Kayvaun Mulready from Worcester Academy. Mulready flipped his commitment from Providence to Georgetown after Cooley departed.

Because the incoming roster situation in D.C. may not wow anyone initially, it spells a perfect opportunity for Georgetown’s quality recruiting class to make an instant impact come November.
