No. 5 - Arkansas Razorbacks: The John Calipari effect

Even with taking over a roster with zero scholarships on its roster, it didn’t take long for HOF coach John Calipari to make his mark in Fayetteville.

To start, John Calipari flipped three Kentucky commits to Arkansas. Four-star CG Boogie Fland, four-star F Karter Knox and four-star SF Billy Richmond highlight the Razorbacks' talented recruiting class.

Then Calipari got to work in the transfer portal, putting together the top-ranked composite portal class in the country, according to 24/7 Sports. Three former Wildcats followed Calipari from the portal -- DJ Wagner, Zvonimir Ivisic and Adou Thiero.

However, no transfer portal additions may be as stupendous as veterans Johnell Davis (FAU) and Jonas Aidoo (Tennessee). Davis, who averaged 18.2, 6.3 RPG and 2.9 APG at FAU, is among the more talented transfers in the country. Calipari now has his go-to scorer. Aidoo, who averaged 11.4 PPG and 7.3 RPG at Tennessee, had a breakout campaign last season and looks to be a pivotal frontcourt piece for the Razorbacks come November.

With John Calipari leading the way, there is no doubt that Arkansas will continue its momentum. With high-profile recruits and transfers set to take the court at Bud Walton Arena, this shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone -- it's the John Calipari effect, which is why the Razorbacks are among the top winners this offseason.
