No. 4 - Kansas Jayhawks: Depth is addressed

Despite earning a four seed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament, the Kansas Jayhawks struggled in Big 12 play. Its 10-8 record and 5th-place finish was the worst record and finish in Bill Self’s 21 years leading the Jayhawks. There were many reasons for the Jayhawk's struggles. The biggest one of all was their lack of depth -- which Bill Self made a priority to address this offseason.

Kansas received big-time news internally when PG Dajuan Haris announced his return. Then came KJ Adams’ return. Then came the All-American, double-double machine Hunter Dickinson, who announced his return to Lawrence in late April.

With the trio intact, Bill Self worked magic in the transfer portal, landing the highly-coveted AJ Storr (Wisconsin), sharpshooter Rylan Griffen (Alabama) and Summit League POY Zeke Mayo. Shakeel Moore (Mississippi State) and five-star C Flory Bidunga are important depth pieces to monitor.

The 2024-25 Kansas Jayhawks are as well-rounded as any team in the country. Depth? Got it. Upside and experience? Got it. Point guard stability? Got it. An All-American center? Got it. If there is one thing that is certain for Kansas as they enter the 2024-25 college basketball season, it is that last year’s issues with depth will not be at the forefront of their concerns.
