16. Tennessee Volunteers

Unless you want to pick Cam Spencer and his impact on the UConn national title team, the best impact transfer from an individual standpoint had to be Dalton Knecht, who averaged 21.7 ppg last season and got picked in the first round of the NBA Draft. The Vols are hoping to replicate that with two high-profile wing transfers from the portal.

The first pickup was Darlinstone Dubar, a 6’6 wing from Hofstra who averaged 17.8 ppg and 6.8 rpg. He was extremely efficient from the field, shooting 54% from the field and 40% from deep. He had a couple of 30-point outings and has the athleticism to play in the SEC. Then there’s the homecoming of Nashville native, Chaz Lanier. The 6’4 guard comes from North Florida and averaged 19.7 ppg on 51% shooting from the field and 44% from deep.

Replacing bigs Jonas Aidoo and Tobe Awaka inside is former Ohio State center Feliz Okpara (6.6 ppg and 6.4 rpg), as well as Igor Milicic Jr. who produced 12.8 ppg and 8.5 rpg at Charlotte, shooting 38% from deep. He’ll be a stretch option for Tennessee and can play both inside positions.

As always, it’ll come down to whether the mid-major transfers can translate their skills to the SEC level, particularly on the defensive end. It worked with Knecht so why not them?
