14. Baylor Bears

While Coach Scott Drew did flirt with the Kentucky job for a bit, he’s back and did a good job rebuilding a roster that lost four starters, including a couple in the first round of the NBA Draft. The team did land three players and while it’s shorter than most on the list, two of them are among the top overall from the portal.

The biggest name is Jeremy Roach, a rare Duke starter to transfer out, instead of entering the NBA Draft. He was second on the team with 14.0 ppg and 3.3 apg, shooting 47% from the field and 43% from three-point range. He replaces Rayj Dennis as the new starting point guard for the Bears as a proven power conference lead guard.

The other big name was Norchad Omier, one of the best rebounders in all of NCAA Basketball. Last season at Miami, the 6’7 center averaged 17.0 ppg and 11.0 rpg and even showed an ability to space the floor. While he’s smaller than most natural centers, Omier is also a proven big man who should excel in the Big 12.

The quiet pickup of Cal transfer Jalen Celestine, a 6’6 guard who started 23 games, averaging 8.7 ppg on 44% shooting from deep, only adds to the already impressive depth for the Bears. With these transfers and the top-10 incoming recruiting class, there’s a nice balance for Coach Drew to work with.
