11. Arkansas Razorbacks

It’s an interesting dynamic with new Arkansas head coach John Calipari when it comes to the transfers. He, along with Jon Scheyer of Duke, are the last coaches to still prefer large top-tier freshmen classes compared to veterans from the portal. But having to fill an empty roster, he was able to land five D-I transfers, though three came with him from Kentucky.

The ones who followed Coach Cal from Kentucky are Adou Theiro, DJ Wagner, and Zvoninir Ivisic. Wagner is a former 5-star guard prospect who started as a freshman, while Ivisic is a 7’2 center with elite offensive potential and a consensus breakout candidate. Thiero is a versatile 6’7 athlete and combo forward who is one of the better defenders in NCAA Basketball.

The other two newcomers are two of the best players from the portal. Johnell Davis was the Co-AAC Player of the Year at FAU, leading the team with 18.2 ppg and 6.3 rpg, shooting 41% from three-point range and Final Four experience. Jonas Aidoo is a quality defensive anchor from Tennessee, averaging 11.4 ppg and 7.3 rpg and nearly two blocks a game.

If Wagner and Ivisic end up being true sophomore breakout candidates, Arkansas may ultimately end up having the top impact transfer class. For them to compete for a top spot in the SEC next season, they may need that to happen.
