25. Michigan Wolverines

Maybe the most important newcomer to the Michigan Wolverines is Dusty May, who took Florida Atlantic to the Final Four. He used this offseason to completely revamp Michigan’s entire roster, adding a mix of proven contributors and possible breakout candidates.

The backcourt is led by Roddy Gayle, who comes over from rival Ohio State. The 6’4 guard averaged 13.5 ppg and 3.1 apg, shooting 45% from the field and going for 32 points in an overtime win over West Virginia. Guards Rubin Jones (North Texas) and Tre Donaldson (Auburn) will share the ball-handling duties, replacing Dug McDaniel.

The one player who followed Coach May to Michigan was Vlad Goldin, a 7’1 center and former four-star prospect. He had his biggest year yet with the Owls last season, averaging 15.7 ppg and 6.9 rpg on 67% shooting from the field. Danny Wolf is another 7’0 big joining the roster after a big year at Yale, producing 14.1 ppg and 9.7 rpg.

Add Alabama transfer Sam Walters and his three-point shooting and Michigan could have one of the best frontcourts in all of NCAA Basketball. The point guard position is one of concern but if either Donaldson or Jones can take over, then the Wolverines will have an NCAA Tournament-caliber roster overall.
