7. Ole Miss Rebels

All of the SEC has been loading up via the transfer portal. But a strong case can be made that Coach Chris Beard and Ole Miss got the most production from its group based on the numbers. They were able to add two of the top perimeter transfers, despite returning starters Jaylen Murray and Matthew Murrell for another year.

The marquee guard pickup was Sean Pedulla, an already-established power conference star. The 6’1 guard led Virginia Tech with 16.4 ppg and 4.6 apg, shooting 42% from the field. Then there’s Dre Davis, a 6’5 guard from Seton Hall who produced 15.0 ppg and 5.9 rpg on 49% shooting.

The new-look frontcourt may not have 7’0 centers but there’s plenty of depth and offensive firepower now. Malik Dia is a 6’9 forward from Belmont, scoring 16.9 ppg and 5.8 rpg on 49% shooting from the field as a sophomore.Mikeal Brown-Jones is a 6’8 forward from UNC-Greensboro, producing 18.9 ppg and 7.5 rpg on 54% shooting.

Ja’Von Benson and wing Davon Barnes (13.5 ppg at Sam Houston State) give them plenty of depth on the wings and inside, something they didn’t have last season. With starting forward Jaemyn Brakefield back as well, this overall roster should be top-20 nationally and one that should compete for a top spot in the SEC.
