5. Texas Longhorns

Texas is heading to the SEC and had to replace a ton of production, including the backcourt duo of Tyrese Hunter and Max Abmas. But they were able to land four talented transfers with scoring potential which could make them even more potent next season.

The big pickup was Tramon Mark, arguably the lone brightspot on Arkansas last season. He led the team with a career-high 16.2 ppg, shooting 48% from the field and 36% from deep. His backcourt partner will be Jordan Pope a 6’2 point guard from Oregon State who produced 17.6 ppg and 3.4 apg on 37% shooting from deep as a sophomore.

The other two transfers come from Indiana State, one of the best team offenses in the country. Julian Larry (11.0 ppg and 4.8 apg) was the team’s point guard and will be slated to run the Longhorns on offense. Jayson Kent (13.5 ppg and 8.1 rpg) is a 6’7 guard/forward who rebounds well for his size and can space the floor.

*The recent pickup of Kansas State transfer Arthur Kaluma gives them a proven frontcourt scorer, coming off averaging 14.4 ppg and 7.0 rpg. This latest move makes them a serious contender in the SEC.
