When Andy Enfield decided to leave USC for SMU, the school was able to poach Eric Musselman from Arkansas. He’s been one of the most prolific recruiters with the transfer portal and they needed him to have another big offseason since the entire roster was empty after the move.

Alongside the two 5-star wings who followed Muss from Arkansas, the team landed 11 freshmen. How you feel about them will determine whether they should be higher in your personal rankings. My main concern with this group is that there are just two power conference performers, with the rest coming from the mid-major ranks.

Desmond Claude (16.6 ppg and 4.2 rpg) is a 6’5 guard from Xavier who was the breakout star in the Big East last season, earning Most Improved Player honors. Saint Thomas is a 6’7 forward from Northern Colorado, coming off averaging 19.7 ppg and 9.8 rpg but did little in his first two years at Loyola-Chicago.

Forwards Joshua Cohen, Terrence Williams, and Chibuzo Agbo could make up one of the top frontcourts in the Big Ten, while Bryce Pope and Clark Slajchert are 18+ ppg scorers at their previous spots, though neither are true PGs. There’s a legit chance I’ll have to eat crow with the Trojans’ place but just about all will have to deal with a level up in competition, now in the Big Ten.
