13. Baylor (23-10)

It’s been another good year at Baylor, as the Bears have hung around in a strong Big 12 and proved themselves on several occasions. A team with a brand new backcourt didn’t shy away from the challenge, and boasts wins over teams like Kansas, Iowa State, and TCU this season. Baylor hasn’t returned to the second weekend of the Big Dance since cutting down the nets in 2021; could this team do that?

Their quarterfinal at the Big 12 Tournament went well, as the Bears beat Cincinnati 68-56 after trailing at the half. This was a consistent from the whole team, with every starter scoring at least 9 and the Bears surviving some sloppy play early. Friday’s semifinal didn’t go well, as Baylor’s run ended with a 76-62 defeat against Iowa State. Jalen Bridges played well with 20 points and 12 rebounds, but the Cyclones shot well from outside the arc and advanced to the title game.

There have been great moments for Baylor this season as well as some tough losses. They’re set up well for the NCAA Tournament those hopes of making an impact this season. This is a team that’s played very efficient offense in conference play and can match up well with several teams in the postseason. The one worry is that they’ve had a few rough efforts the last week; can they take care of business on basketball’s biggest stage?
