6. Kentucky (12-3)

The Wildcats keep chugging along, sitting in a pretty position in a strong SEC. There’s no shortage of exciting talent in Lexington and the team has mostly taken advantage of that. There have been great moments, like wins over North Carolina, and equally confusing ones against UNC Wilmington. Regardless, the Wildcats have been winning games, though they hit a speed bump this week.

It was business as usual on Tuesday night, with the Wildcats getting a 90-77 home win against Missouri. Rob Dillingham continued his brilliant play with 23 points off the bench while Tre Mitchell had 20 points and 14 rebounds in their sixth straight victory. That streak would come to an end in a thriller on Saturday, with Kentucky falling 97-92 to Texas A&M in overtime. Antonio Reeves had 22 points and DJ Wagner had 18 in the loss.

There was never any panic in Lexington and there certainly won’t be after their first loss in SEC play. These Wildcats will be challenged in these tough road games and there’s no disaster in losing to a solid Aggies squad. Kentucky has played solid basketball in recent weeks, especially on the offensive end. It’ll be full speed ahead to a pair of winnable home games next week, beginning with Mississippi State on Wednesday.
