With the UConn Huskies winning the national championship, that concludes the 2023-24 NCAA Basketball season. We had plenty of fun, thrilling games, and stars emerging from the past few months. But now, it's time to turn the page to the 2024-25 campaign. The transfer portal is getting going and we have plenty of roster changes in the next few months.

Still, it's tradition to do a WTE power rankings for next season and this year is no different. There are some variables to go through, including predicting which players will go to the NBA Draft and who'll use their extra year of eligiblity from covid a few years back.

For this piece, I'll assume every consensus top-30 pick will be going pro, along with assuming that those with another year of eligibility will come back until told otherwise. For now, here's my look at the latest top-25 rankings for 2025.

Honorable Mention: Wisconsin Badgers

After winning 22 games and earning a 5-seed in the Big Dance, Wisconsin lost two key players, including leading scorer, AJ Storr. Forward Tyler Wahl is also gone but the team should have back starter Steven Crowl, along with several near double-digit scorers on the team. Look for a potential breakout campaign from John Blackwell, who averaged 8.0 ppg as a freshman.

HM: Wake Forest Demon Deacons

For now, I'm operating as if Hunter Sallis won't be returning for next season, which means the starting backcourt duo of him and Boopie Miller are gone. But the other three starters will be back, including double-digit scorers, Andrew Carr, Cameron Hildreth, and Efton Reid. If they find another good guard out the portal, they'll be a top-25 team.

HM: Tennessee Volunteers

Not only is All-American guard Dalton Knecht gone but the Vols also will be without starters, Jonas Aidoo and Josiah Jordan-James. Guards Zakai Zeigler and Jordan Gainey will return but they'll need former top-50 prospect JP Estrella to have a big year as the new projected starting center.
