8. Creighton Bluejays

2023-24 season record: 25-10 (14-6 Big East)

The Bluejays are another team that could either bring back a lot of its production or undergo a complete rebuild. What we know is that star wing Baylor Scheierman (18.5 ppg and 9.0 rpg) has no more eligibility, while backup guard, Francisco Farabello, is leaving too.

That leaves three key starters to watch. Center Ryan Kalkbrenner is a multi-time Big East Defensive Player of the Year and all-league player. Guard Trey Alexander (17.6 ppg and 4.7 apg) is one of the better pure scorers in NCAA Basketball, while point guard Steven Ashworth also has another year available if he wants it. He had a strong second half of the year after a slow start and could have a big second season with the program.

The Bluejays have some depth to work with, starting with the forward duo of Mason Miller and Isaac Traudt. Then, there’s the freshmen class, including four-star prospects, Jackson McAndrew and Ty Davis. They’ll need to find a center to replace Fredrick King, who recently entered the portal.

As long as both Kalkbrenner and Alexander return, Creighton will have a top-25 caliber roster. Even one of them could be good enough but these are two of the more important overall decisions to watch for.
