12. Oklahoma (15-5)

Life in the Big 12 is no easy task; the Sooners have known this for many years. However, it’s their last dance before joining the SEC next season. They actually entered this season projected to finish near the very bottom of the league, but Porter Moser and company got off to a really hot start, winning their first ten games. Unfortunately, they had a few opportunities slip through their fingers this past week.

Oklahoma sought a third straight win but fell far from their goal, losing 75-60 at home to Texas back on Tuesday. Jalon Moore had 15 points but the Longhorns outplayed the Sooners in virtually every facet of the game. There was no bounce back performance this weekend, with the Sooners losing a heartbreaker at home, falling 85-84 to Texas Tech. Rivaldo Soares had 19 points and 10 rebounds off the bench and Oklahoma had a strong second half, but fell for the second time this week.

Now just 3-4 in Big 12 play, the Sooners have suffered a multi-loss week for the second time this month, but still remain on the radar. Oklahoma needs to take advantage of winnable games in the weeks to come if they want to stay both in this conference race and in the running for the NCAA Tournament. For now, they’ll take their show back on the road, with trips to Kansas State and UCF next week.
