21. TCU (15-5)

There wasn’t much to say about TCU early this season, as much of their nonconference schedule was unimpressive. They jumped more into the spotlight once Big 12 play began, mostly for an impressive performance against Kansas and a win against Houston. The Horned Frogs suffered the dreaded multi-loss week and fell out of the national polls but they were in for quite the bounce back.

Tuesday saw TCU back on the road and back in the winning column again, securing a 74-69 win over Oklahoma State. The Horned Frogs came back from a small halftime deficit and got 21 points and 11 rebounds from star Emanuel Miller. Their outing this weekend was somewhat more memorable, as TCU hung on in a 105-102 triple overtime thriller at Baylor. Among the highlights for a Horned Frogs team that shot 52% from the field was 30 points from Jameer Nelson Jr. off the bench and 21 more points from Miller.

Things haven’t always gone quite as expected for the Horned Frogs, but any Big 12 team that can win two road games in one week is doing something right. TCU has been right there in all seven conference games they’ve played, while wins over Houston, Oklahoma, and now Baylor certainly push the needle in their favor. There’s no rest for the weary, though TCU does get to stay at home for Texas Tech and Texas next week.
