Yes, you're reading that title correctly. Hubert Davis' son, Elijah Davis, will be joining North Carolina this coming 2024-2025 season as a walk-on.

His son spent three years of college at the University of Lynchburg, located in Virginia — the state where his dad grew up.

Davis made the announcement on June 12th, per his Instagram.

His caption, "someone order biscuits," alludes to UNC's most unique group of athletes, popularly known as "The Biscuit Boys." Last season's group was comprised of Jackson Watkins, Duwe Farris, and Rob Landry.

In case you're unaware, the Biscuit Boys normally come in during big UNC blowouts, as Coach Davis will give them the opportunity to step onto the hardwood floor. For the fans in attendance, they'll earn free Bojangles biscuits the day after if the Heels can reach 100 points.

The whole Dean Dome goes nuts for this kind of stuff. It's history.

Now you know the background story!

Davis, standing at 6-foot-4 and 197 pounds, is looking to carve his own path, separate from his father's. He had a season high of 12 points this past January 10th against Roanoke. In addition, he racked up a game high of 20 minutes against them on February 3rd.

During the 2022-2023 campaign, Davis sparked 41.3 percent from downtown. A shooter at heart just like his dad.

It's going to be enjoyable to watch his first splash in the Smith Center, as the Carolina faithful will be screaming to the top of their lungs.

The Tar Heels will be going into their fourth season with Coach Davis as the head coach, and the addition of his son makes it special.

What would be even more special is if they could win on the final Monday of the season together. A memory that will live between them forever.
