Oregon Basketball dipped into the transfer portal this off-season and gathered four newcomers hoping to earn back-to-back spots in the NCAA Tournament, something the program hasn’t done since 2016 and 2017.

Head coach Dana Almatman landed three rising fifth-year seniors four-star: Villanova transfer TJ Bamba, four-star Toledo transfer Ra’Heim Moss, four-star Stanford transfer Brandon Angel, and three-star Georgetown transfer Supreme Cook. Together, the four structure the No. 91 ranked transfer portal class in the nation.

Bamba, a 6-foot-5-inch guard, averaged 10.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists this past season with Villanova and shot 43% from the field. The Bronx, N.Y. native landed 36.9% of his shots from deep while averaging 3.7 three-pointers attempted per game. The rising fifth-year began his college career out west where he played three seasons with Washington State before transferring to Villanova for his senior year.

Angel and Cook, who are both forwards listed at 6-feet, 8-inches and 6-feet, 9-inches, will have to step up in the paint as the Ducks lost their star big man N’Faly Dante as he was declined more eligibility by the NCAA closing his collegiate career.

Angel’s freshman and sophomore seasons at Stanford were grim as he started on the bench in every game. He played in 17 tilts his rookie year and 32 his sophomore year, totaling an average of less than eight points per game in each. However, in his junior run, Angel started in 31 of 33 games for the Cardinals and averaged 9.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists. Last season was his zenith, totaling an average of 13 points, 4.7 boards and 1.7 assists through 30 games and 29 starts while building a field-goal percentage of 56.7% - his best through all four years.

Cook played three seasons at Fairfield before transferring to the Big East for his senior year. Through three seasons with the Stags, Cook averaged 9.8 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. The East Orange, New Jersey native was not ranked as a high school recruit per 247Sports but earned his way up to a three-star rating as a Georgetown transfer.

The four will be assigned to work around Jackson Shelstad - who played a massive role for the Ducks as a freshman last season - along with Kwame Evans, Jadrian Tracy and others.
