With a chance to get on the bubble, Pittsburgh Basketball found a way to beat a surging Virginia squad.

It's hard to explain but Pittsburgh Basketball has become road warriors in ACC play. They're now 5-2 away from home, coming off a 74-63 win over the Virginia Cavaliers after a second-half surge. A lot went right for the Panthers, both on the court and from a resume perspective. Here are some takeaways from the game.

1. Another superb performance from Blake Hinson

When you're facing a ranked team, you need your stars to come through. And that's what Hinson did, going for a game-high 27 points on 11/19 shooting, plus 5/13 from deep. 18 of his points came in the second half, including 10 points in the first eight minutes to keep the Panthers in the game when Virginia went on its scoring run.

Hinson has been on a run these last couple of weeks, scoring 16+ points in the last five games. Just as important has been his lack of foul trouble, committing six total in that stretch. It's allowed him to play 36+ mpg and him being on the court equals a good chance at a Pitt win.
