Ranking the top 8 big men in the West Region of the NCAA Tournament
I know this may come as a shock to a lot of people, but I don't have Armando Bacot as the best big man in the West Region. When looking at the stats for all big men, his were not the best of everyone, but I put him at two because of how crucial he is to this Tar Heels squad.
Bacot does not average 20 points per game or has the greatest shooting percentage, but what he does best is a rebound. He is top 15 in the country averaging 10.2 rebounds per game, which is what makes this UNC team so good. He does average 14.1 points per game which is not bad, but he also shoots just 54.6 percent from the floor.
Bacot is so crucial to the team, especially when he and RJ Davis work together. Davis is great at getting Bacot the ball, and then when rebounds are made, Bacot is great at hiding an open Davis for a big shot. Bacot will need to be at his best if he wants to lead UNC to a championship.
