Rick Barnes and 4 other head coaches to not trust while filling out your 2024 bracket
By Sam Fariss
Not only did Rick Barnes’ Tennessee Volunteers just get blown out by the unranked Mississippi State Bulldogs in the SEC Tournament, but he has also historically struggled as a head coach in the NCAA Tournament.
Over the years, Barnes has repeatedly flopped in the postseason tournaments, no matter which team he’s been running.
Barnes had Kevin Durant, one of the all-time greats, at Texas and still couldn’t win a title.
Winning less than 50 percent of his postseason tournament games isn’t the worst in the country but it is far from trustworthy.
I expect Tennessee’s usurping by Mississippi State is just a preview of what we will see in the Big Dance.
