Sure, he’s taken his teams to a couple of Final Four appearances. For what? Without anything to show for his deep runs in the postseason tournament, Jim Larrañaga is someone to avoid when taking a team all the way.
While Miami has had a pretty decent season, they aren’t a team that can reliably make it to the Sweet Sixteen, much less win it all this year.
With Larrañaga holding the reigns of the Canes, their odds are even worse.
I don’t want to take away from what Larrañaga has done with programs like George Mason, he helped build the Patriots into a winning team, when they hadn’t been previously.
However, when I fill out my March Madness brackets, he’s the reason I continuously avoid Miami.
