Coach Jamie Dixon and TCU tagged Brendan Wenzel in the portal making his decision to commit to the Horned Frogs on April 23rd, per Joe Tipton.

The Wyoming transfer decided to move on from the program after four seasons. The 6-foot-7 guard, tapping in at 208 pounds, logged 11.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. He also shot 40.5 percent from the field and 37.7 percent from three. This is an improvement from his junior year, where Wenzel mustered 7.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 0.9 assists.

The San Antonio, Texas, native's best game from this past season tracks back to January 30th, scoring 25 points, grabbing two rebounds, and handing out one dime against the Air Force Falcons. This was just one of five different occasions that the guard scored at least 20 points or more.

His splits all through the 2023–2024 season stood close to each other, as he averaged 12.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists at home. In comparison to his 10.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.1 assists. The consistency is there for the future Horned Frog, which will serve TCU very well, to say the least.

Out of high school, Wenzel was listed as a three-star recruit and the No. 18 recruit, as he dropped 24.1 points as a senior.

Wenzel is a three-point shooter with remarkable range, as he can hit from that distance with ease. He uses his size to drive and get to the rim for a layup or slam. This kind of versatility will serve Coach Dixon and his offense well going into next season. Considering his length, he can be plugged into either forward position even if he's listed as a guard. A lot of potential lineups for TCU's offense will only aim their trajectory higher for success.
