WEST REGION: Michigan State vs UNC

Two historic universities going head-to-head in the round of 32? Sign me up. Michigan State has been up and down all season long, but their experience and level-headed mindset have never wavered. They debatably played their best overall game on both sides of the ball all season against Mississippi State on Thursday. If they can continue that style of play against North Carolina, they will cause problems.

The key difference between that Mississippi State team and this Tar Heel team is a drastic gap in experience. RJ Davis and Armando Bacot have been here and done this. They have experienced the highs and the lows of the NCAA Tournament and have been faced with adversity. The Tar Heels are coming off a 28-point win against Wagner, while the Spartans squared away the Bulldogs 69-51. Tyson Walker and Jaden Akins led the way with 19 and 15 points, respectively.

While North Carolina had a plethora of offense, having four different players score in double figures, Harrison Ingram added nine of his own. The Tar Heels and the Spartans both don't get very deep into their benches, so this will be a very interesting and high-intensity game that could be the best matchup of the entire weekend.
