2. 2003-2004, Star power gets it done

Out of all these championships, this may be the team with the greatest star power outside of Kemba Walker. Most of these teams did not have as many touted NBA prospects, but these early 2000s Huskies were something to watch.

A big three of Ben Gordon, Emeka Okafor, and Charlie Villanueva were nightmare matchups for opposing teams. But those are just the guys that had lengthy NBA careers, Hilton Armstrong, Marcus Williams, and Josh Boone all ended up being first-round picks in 2006, and Denham Brown was also selected in the second round. Having this much NBA talent on your roster is rare, and it can be even more rare that talent comes together and wins it all.

These Huskies finished second in the regular season Big East standings, but they made a run in the Big East Tournament and won the conference against Pittsburgh. They then earned a two-seed in the NCAA tournament and won their first four games all by double digits. Their Final Four matchup against Duke was basically the National Championship, which ended up an all-time classic 79-78 game.

They moved on to play Georgia Tech, which they then beat by nine in the Alamodome. This team is remembered for its dominance, and for capturing a second championship that began to put them in the talks to be one of the top programs in the nation.
