Three weeks into the college basketball season, the national basement continues to churn.
Another Week, Another Shakeup at the Bottom
Some teams have shown modest improvement, some have fallen even further, and a few new programs have arrived with tough early-season starts. Here is how the Bottom 10 looks after another chaotic week of November hoops.
NCAA Basketball Bottom 10 Rankings After Week Three
363. Arkansas Pine-Bluff Golden Lions (0-8)
Arkansas Pine-Bluff drops to the bottom after its eighth straight loss. Three of the last four games have featured the Golden Lions giving up more than 100 points, and they now allow 98.1 per game while scoring just 69.3. A road swing to UIC and DePaul is ahead, but more realistic opportunities to win come in mid-December against Ecclesia and Champion Christian.
364. St. Francis Red Flash (0-4)
St. Francis climbs out of the last spot but remains firmly near the bottom. A 17-point loss at Lehigh added to their struggles, and they are one of three NEC teams still searching for their first victory. Belmont comes next before a more realistic chance for success against Franciscan.
363. Coppin State Eagles (1-7)
Coppin State picked up a 41-point win over Central Penn but remains overmatched against Division I teams. A 43-point loss at VCU underscored those issues. The Eagles visit Rider next before heading to Loyola Maryland at the end of the month.
362. Alcorn State Braves (0-7)
The Braves have faced one of the toughest schedules in the country without a single home game yet. Recent losses to LSU and Oklahoma came by an average of 22.5 points. Alcorn State is scoring only 65.4 per game and moves on to face Indiana State on Friday.
361. Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils (1-6)
The Delta Devils enter a road matchup at Texas A and M after losing five straight. Michael James, averaging nearly 20 points, is a bright spot. After visiting the Aggies, Mississippi Valley State meets UL Monroe and Kansas State before returning home on December 16.
360. Chicago State Cougars (0-6)
A new coaching staff has not sparked early success. The Cougars scored 54 points in consecutive outings, competing at Minnesota before falling heavily at Iowa. They face Purdue Fort Wayne and Youngstown State next, followed by a winnable game against South Carolina State on December 1.
359. Florida A and M Rattlers (0-4)
The Rattlers held Georgia to 2-for-25 from three but still lost by 30. All four losses have been double-digit defeats. They are scoring just 65 points per game while allowing nearly 95. Upcoming games against non-Division I opponents offer a better chance to pick up their first win.
358. Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs (0-6)
Gardner-Webb has struggled on both ends, allowing 94.3 points a game while posting little offensive resistance. They are coming off a 35-point loss at Richmond, which followed a 31-point loss at DePaul. They remain home this week to face Navy and SE Louisiana.
357. South Carolina State Bulldogs (0-6)
The Bulldogs enter the rankings after several close losses, including a one-point defeat at South Dakota. They are the only MEAC team without a win. Road matchups with Missouri and Winthrop are next before they finally return home on December 16.
356. Jackson State Tigers (0-6)
Jackson State moves into the Bottom 10 after giving up 115 points at Arkansas. That performance followed losses where they allowed 113 at Illinois, 106 at Louisville and 112 at Auburn. The upcoming schedule lightens with games at Louisiana and Kennesaw State.
Teams That Climb Out
Fairleigh Dickinson exits after scoring 100 points in a 42-point win over St. Elizabeth.
Air Force also escapes after wins over SIUE and IUPUI and should remain safely out of the bottom group for now.
Enjoy Feast Week!
