40. Derryck Thornton (2015-16)

Stats: 7.1 ppg and 2.5 apg

Thornton started 20 games as a freshman, shooting 39% from the field. But after just one double-digit scoring outing in the final 20 games of the year, he elected to transfer, sitting out a year under prior rules before playing at Boston College and USC.

39. Dame Sarr (2025-26)

Stats: 6.4 ppg and 3.8 rpg

The international five-star prospect started 30 of 38 games this past season for Duke, shooting 40% from the field and 32% from deep. Sarr earned All-ACC defensive honors and had two of eight double-digit scoring games in the NCAA Tournament, including 14 points and eight rebounds in the Round of 32 victory over TCU.

38. Dariq Whitehead (2022-23)

Stats: 8.3 ppg and 2.4 rpg

The 6’7 wing played around 21 mpg off the bench at Duke, scoring 10+ points on 10 different occasions. Whitehead’s strength was his shooting ability, making 43% of his attempts from deep, including making four in his season-high 18-point outing against Boston College.

37. Rasheed Sulaimon (2012-15)

Stats: 10 ppg and 2.7 rpg

After scoring 11.6 ppg as a freshman starter, Sulaimon’s role got smaller in the next two years. He shot over 40% from deep over his career, but the former five-star prospect was ultimately dismissed from Duke for off-the-court issues and finished his college career at Maryland as a senior.
