28. Trevon Duval (2017-18)
Stats: 10.3 ppg and 5.6 apg
The 6’3 point guard started 34 games in his lone year at Duke, shooting 43% from the field. He led the entire ACC with 207 total assists and had four games of 10+ assists throughout the season. Two of his top three scoring outings came in the NCAA Tournament, including 20 points and six assists in the Elite 8 defeat to Kansas.
27. Kyrie Irving (2010-11)
Stats: 17.5 ppg and 4.3 apg
Set to be one of the biggest “ifs” in Duke history, Irving was limited to just 11 games due to injury. He was still highly effective on the court, shooting 53% from the field and 46% from deep. Irving scored 11+ points in every game, including 31 in a win over Michigan State.
26. Matthew Hurt (2020-21)
Stats: 13.5 ppg and 4.8 rpg
Hurt started 22 games as a freshman (9.7 ppg), but it was his sophomore year where he truly broke out. He led Duke Basketball with 18.3 ppg and 6.2 rpg, shooting 44% from deep. He was the ACC Most Improved Player of the Year, but his legacy is hampered by 2021, the infamous year the program didn’t make the NCAA Tournament.
25. Trevor Keels (2021-22)
Stats: 11.5 ppg and 3.4 rpg
Keels started 26 games in his lone year at Duke, shooting 42% from the field and 32% from deep. The All-ACC freshman had 25-point outings against Kentucky and Clemson, along with a season-high 27 on the road at Pittsburgh. Keels finished his Duke Basketball career with 19 points in the Final Four loss to North Carolina.
