10. John Mobley Jr. (Ohio State)

Nearly one year ago, Ohio State made a change by dismissing Chris Holtmann in favor of Jake Diebler, leading to an inspiring end to the season for the Buckeyes. Mobley committed to Ohio State long before that coaching change and stayed in Columbus after Diebler was named the permanent head coach several months ago. Fast forward to now and Mobley is starting to assert himself in what’s been a mixed bag of a season for the Buckeyes.

When he’s on the court, Mobley is one of the most talented players out there, as the former 4-star guard is averaging 12.3 points per game while making 43% of his 3-pointers. He came off the bench to start the season but still had some notable efforts, dropping a season-high 23 points on Campbell while playing sharp in other opportunities. Since joining the starting lineup in mid-December, he’s continued to be a great weapon and had 22 points against Indiana just last week.

There are certainly some flaws in Mobley’s game, but he’s the type of player who can heat up and hit several 3-pointers to really inspire the Buckeyes. If he does that during March Madness, that kind of effort can will Ohio State to their first NCAA Tournament win since 2022. He shined with 15 points against Kentucky and played well in an upset at Purdue, but the big question is if he and these Buckeyes can win consistently enough to get into the Big Dance and have a favorable seed.
