The college basketball transfer portal is starting to run out of star high-major players. One of the few remaining free agents is Andrej Stojakovic, a 6’7 wing and former top-30 prospect out of high school. He started his career at Stanford, producing 7.8 ppg as a freshman, mostly off the bench.
Stojakovic transferred to Cal, where he blossomed as a breakout starter. He led the Bears this past season with 17.9 ppg, shooting 43% from the field and 32% from three-point range. The sophomore had 12 games of at least 20 points, including a career-high 37 in the loss to Stanford in the ACC Tournament.

A final decision is expected this week.
He’s now back in the portal, with three teams reportedly in the mix to land him. Here’s a power ranking of the options in terms of what would make the most sense for Stojakovic.
3. Stanford Cardinal
Stojakovic is very familiar with the Cardinal program and a case can be made that they upgraded at head coach, now with Kyle Smith. The issue with this option is that their top three players are gone, the roster wouldn’t be a projected NCAA Tournament team, even with the Cal transfer on board. Still, the chance to get a degree at Stanford and be the top offensive option once again is an appealing spot to consider.
2. UNC Tar Heels
With Drake Powell in the NBA Draft, UNC could be in the mix for another wing. The big concern with the group is the lack of proven double-digit scorers, relying on 5-star incoming forward Caleb Wilson to be a star out the gate, Landing Stojakovic would give the Heels another All-ACC caliber player to work with as they look to get back into national contention.
1. Illinois Fighting Illini
Coach Brad Underwood has found a flair for European players this offseason. Not only did he bring Arkansas transfer Zvonimir Ivisic to join his brother Tomislav, but he also brought in a pair of incoming freshmen in forward David Mirkovic and guard Mihailo Petrovic. With Will Riley going pro and Tre White transferring out, the Illini require a wing, especially one that can be a lead option for a preseason top-25 team.
