It’s been a busy past few days for Robert Morris Basketball when it comes to roster building. It started by adding some guards. Then, they added 6’9 forward Nikolaos Chitikoudis from North Carolina A&T, one of the top rebounders in the nation.

On Tuesday, the Colonials added two more players to the frontcourt.

Josh Hill

Hill is a 6’11 forward who was originally a four-star prospect out of high school. In his lone year at Arkansas State, Hill produced 3.5 ppg in 17 games, making 21/55 shots (38%) from the field and 11/41 (27%) from deep. In his lone double-digit scoring game, Hill scored 26 points in 16 minutes in a win over Coastal Carolina, making 6/12 from deep.

Hill can play the five-spot in the Horizon League and will fit well with Chitikoudis, since one can spread the floor and the other one can’t on offense. They may not be as good as the previous frontcourt duo of Alvaro Folguerias and Amarion Dickerson but without knowing who else will join the Colonials inside, it’s a solid pairing.

Kaleb Brown

Physically, Brown looks like a frontcourt player, listed at 6’6 and over 250 pounds. However, he’s more of a perimeter player in how he operates. He spent his first three years at Missouri before transferring to Cal State Fullerton. Brown started 11 of 29 games at around 21 mpg, averaging 6.2 ppg and 3.1 rpg, shooting 37% from the field and 27% from deep.

He had seven games of double-digit scoring, including 17 against Grand Canyon and 14 points vs UC Riverside. The efficiency will be a concern for Brown but he’s not likely to have a super large role at Robert Morris. However, his size and versatility could make him a unique mismatch for the rest of the conference.

The additions of Brown and Hill give Robert Morris nine scholarship players. Let’s see who else the coaching staff is looking at, both inside and out.
